Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Today in Flyer Time, Mrs. Sears's class focused on teamwork and strategy.  The object was to work together to get a ball to roll down a human-held ramp system 15 feet and fall into a cup.  If the ball touched you or fell, the group had to start over.  As the groups went through the process, they learned that if you overlapped the ramp there was less of a chance of the ball falling.  This week's ball was foil, lightweight and about an inch in diameter.  Next week the task gets harder with a marble; smaller and heavier, students will have a harder time controlling its roll, so some more strategy will be necessary!  Good job today and good luck next week.

Show Your Sperreng Spirit

Flyer time families will work in teams this month to create a door design that is unique and represents who they are.  The theme for this activity is "there's snow place like Sperreng."  What a fitting theme for a month that has seen more than its fair share of snow! Students are encouraged to work with their families to get creative and design a cover for their flyer time teacher's door.  Doors are currently a work in progress. Check back in a few weeks for pictures of final designs!
Mr. Ratliff's flyer time has the beginnings of a snowman - We think:)
Ms. McCarthy's flyer time looks to be creating snowflakes as unique as each student.
Mr. Lewis's flyer time class is dreaming of Sochi, or they are under a lot of stress.
Ms. Rathjen's flyer time is creating blizzard conditions for their snowman.
Mr. Scheidenhelm's room is playing reindeer games.
Mrs. Fuch's flyer time has the "Stay-puff" marshmallow snowman. Who you gonna call? (this is from the movie Ghost-busters if you are not a child of the 80s)
Mr. Finch's flyer time looks like they are going for an Olympic theme...or making a necklace.
