Staying Strong at the End

Students at Sperreng are finishing out the year strong. Some are finishing major projects in their interest groups and looking forward to the new year. This week, flyer time groups talked about truth - truth in advertising and truth by omission - and ways people try and bend the truth sometimes. Students were challenged to look past the messages in commercials and determine the underlying goal of the advertiser, making them smarter consumers.

Happy Thanksgiving!

During the past couple of weeks, students reflected on what they have to be thankful for. Friends and family led the list. They also discussed the importance of prioritizing things. They watched a video that illustrated this with rocks and sand called the Jar of Life. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_N_uvq41Pg
